Role description
As Global Communications Manager, located in Amsterdam, you will be working for both entities within IMC; financial markets and asset management. You will report to the General Counsel & Global Head of Compliance.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial professional who is able to shape this diverse communications position within our dynamic, flat-structured organisation. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and executing a strategy with respect to internal and external communication (focus areas being labour market communication and corporate communication).
Internal Communication:
The Global Communications Manager will develop, in close consultation with senior management, a strategy for internal communication to ensure an effective flow of relevant information to all employees relating to internal and external developments, the corporate brand, company values, etc. You will decide on the integrated communications mix and be responsible for the choice and use of these communication tools (e.g. intranet, newsletter).
External Communication:
In cooperation with senior management you will advise and contribute to the corporate communication of both financial markets and asset management towards their stakeholders, including existing and prospective clients. You are expected to build a strong employer brand proposition by developing a global external communication strategy; taking into account local needs and wishes. You will develop a view on how to make use of media (including above/below the line and new/alternative/virtual communication channels) and be responsible for the execution. As part of this you will ensure the maintenance and further development of our website.
In this role you will be working together with all of our offices and be the liaison with external agencies to execute the communication strategy.
Knowledge and skills requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a comparable role
- In-depth knowledge and experience with new/alternative/virtual communication media
- Thorough understanding of the needs and requirements regarding internal communication
- Proven track record of dealing with external parties
- High level of English, both verbal and written skills
- Ability to work independently, taking full responsibility (and full credit) for an international communications strategy
- Extensive experience in writing and editing texts for different audiences and purposes in English
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Affinity with the financial markets
