Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Windows Engineer who will play a critical role in system administration of our technical environment.  The Windows Engineer will be part of highly experienced team, and be provided new challenges on a daily basis.  Our flat culture encourages not only knowledge and best practice sharing, but also the opportunity to have your voice heard.   

Key accountabilities

  • Maintain/administer highly-available Active Directory environment (including DHCP and DNS on infoblox-based appliances)
  • Maintain/administer highly-available Exchange 2007, Blackberry 4.x, and Ironport-based messaging environment
  • Verify the success/failure of nightly TSM backups, ensure backups are sent to our D3P, and remedy any failures in our nightly backup environment
  • Maintain/administer highly-available SAN based on 3PAR technology
  • Maintain/address electronic compliance needs for the firm
  • Maintain, improve, extend the remote access capabilities of the firm’s employees, including RSA soft tokens and global phone coverage
  • Maintain/administer McAfee-based antivirus environment
  • Automate back-office administration via various scripting languages
  • Maintain a highly-available, highly performing virtualization environment
  • Provide remote desktop capabilities through Microsoft Terminal services

Technical requirements

  • 4+ years of MS Windows administration
  • Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • In depth knowledge of Active Directory and MS Exchange 2007
  • Knowledge of SAN and anti-virus solutions

  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of Financial Markets (particularly derivatives) is an advantage, and a passion for the industry is essential
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills; ability to solve problems creatively and proactively
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills are vital
